Abstract Title: An Improved Approach Enables Efficient and Cost-effective Directed Evolution of AAV Capsids in Non-human Primates via Different Delivery Routes

Poster Number: #1397

Date & Time: Wednesday, May 14, 2025 | 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM (CDT)

Session: Wednesday Poster Reception

Location: Poster Hall, Hall I2

Byongen’s DynEvoLib® platform integrates high-throughput NHP screening with diverse administration routes (IV, IT, and local injection) to streamline the discovery of clinical-enabling AAV vectors.

⭐️Key Presentation Highlights

BY087: Next-Generation Myotropic & Cardiotropic Variant

Demonstrated a 21-fold increase in skeletal muscle and a 13-fold increase in cardiac muscle transduction compared to AAV9 in NHPs. Exhibits robust cross-species tropism (NHP, rat, and mouse), ideal for treating Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) and other systemic muscular disorders.

BY213: Potent CNS-Tropic Variant (Systemic Delivery)

Achieved a 30-fold enhancement in CNS transduction via intravenous (IV) administration compared to AAV9, offering a non-invasive solution for widespread neurodegenerative diseases.

BY368: High-Efficiency CNS Variant (Intrathecal Delivery)

Delivered a massive 98-fold increase in CNS transduction via intrathecal (IT) injection compared to AAV9, unlocking new possibilities for targeting refractory brain disorders.

"Our findings underscore the transformative potential of the DynEvoLib® platform in bridging the gap between library discovery and large-animal validation," said Gang Wang, Ph.D., Founder and CEO of Byongen Therapeutics. "By delivering unprecedented potency and tissue specificity in NHPs, these novel capsids provide a robust foundation for the next generation of life-changing gene therapies."

Byongen Therapeutics invites potential biopharma partners, researchers, and investors to visit our poster session to discuss collaborative opportunities for advancing these candidates toward clinical development.
